What would you like clarified?

Write down the question that brought you here. What finding supports the diagnosis? Why was this treatment proposed? Which alternatives deserve discussion? How would success be measured, and what follow-up would be needed?

A second opinion can confirm the original plan, explain its reasoning, or identify questions that need further evaluation. It does not guarantee a different diagnosis or a different treatment.

Bring the story and the records

Prepare a short symptom timeline, your medication and allergy list, previous test reports, and the treatment plan you were offered. Ask which imaging files, pathology reports or procedure notes the clinician needs before your visit.

Plan the conversation

Tell the office that you are seeking another opinion and identify the main question. Confirm which clinician will see you, which records are needed, and how the visit and any additional testing are billed.
